New TV contract for MLB with Fox and TBS

Major League Baseball owner have agreed to a new contract with Fox and TBS that will run through 2013. The deal is reported to be worth $3 billion. TBS will show all of the first round games. They will share the NL and AL championship series, alternating leagues each year. Fox will get the ALCS next year, while TBS will have the NLCS. The World Series, All-Star games and Saturday afternoon regular-season telecasts will all remain on Fox. The owners voted unanimously to approve this deal on Thursday.
In possible replay new, General Manager meeting this week in Naples, Fla., asked a committee that deals with umpires to come up with recommendations on instant replay. Many GMs favor instant replay on fair and foul calls as well as disputed home runs.
